Established since 1981, the Northeast-Southeast Dental Plan’s network is made up of privately practicing dentists as well as specialists. Its coverage spans the northeastern until the southeastern parts of the United States, from Connecticut to Virginia, hence the name of Northeast-Southeast.

One difference that Northeast-Southeast has over other dental plans is that it offers plans under three categories: individual, couple and family. Membership in Northeast-Southeast is divided into six kinds: regular, senior, group, chamber of commerce, AETNA and archdiocese memberships. (800) 828-2222. You can also choose to print out the application form in the plan’s website and mail it with a check or money order for the membership fee. The membership fee is the only payment you need to make to be a member. There are no additional fees, co-payments or deductibles that you to pay.
Anyone can become a member of the plan. The plan has no age limits imposed on whoever is eligible to apply. Senior citizens, in fact, can apply for membership at lower fees than those who apply for regular membership.
Membership becomes effective the day the plan receives your application. However, applications submitted through regular mail may take up to two weeks to be processed. Once effective, it is valid for one year to the date that your application is received. You will then need to renew your membership for the same fee, unless you choose to change the plan that you are availing.
Once your membership is confirmed, you can immediately enjoy your discounts afterwards. There is no obligatory waiting period, as opposed to traditional dental insurance. You also don’t need pre-certification to apply for a membership. In availing of discounted services, you do not need to file any paperwork or fill up any kinds of forms.

Basically, members of Northeast-Southeast get to enjoy at least 20% and as much as 50% in discounts in most dental procedures. The plan is open to residents of the states of Connecticut, DC, Florida, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Massachusetts.
